Temporary Support Orders

When a petition for divorce is filed, a temporary support order can be requested from the courts. That temporary order (called Pendente Lite) will have the same force and effect as if it were a final support or alimony order, except that it is temporary and only intended to be in place during the divorce proceedings. Often times, a temporary order is necessary to help a family maintain the home environment and lifestyle that they did during marriage.
